Testimonials

"I am an experienced peripatetic and private Woodwind Instrument Tutor, and currently teach a total of seventy-five pupils.

For several years David Kyle has serviced and repaired instruments owned by my pupils, and also my own instruments and those of my fellow musicians. He has worked on flutes, oboes, clarinets, saxophones and bassoons.

I have always been delighted by the quality of service offered by David. His workmanship is of a high standard; the turnaround is speedy, and the price is reasonable. He is highly knowledgeable, and is always willing to talk both informatively and enthusiastically about his work, of which he is justifiably proud.

I have no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending his services."

"  I have a Yamaha 411 with a silver head joint and silver body.It has had a lot of playing over the years and once again was in need of a serious overhaul. I was having a number of major problems including an irritating little problem where the middle E flat always dragged when you tongued it and there was a noticeable delay. A friend recommended David saying that he had done a wonderful job on her clarinet so I gave him a ring and we discussed my flute. I explained that I also had a handmade silver head joint that did not fit the socket and tended to play slightly flat because is was about 8mm longer than the Yamaha head. As such I did not use it. David serviced the flute and fitted and shortened the head joint by 5mm. To say that the flute is better would be an under statement. It is like playing a completely different instrument. To comment on a few points, it has a wonderful tone, the E flat works properly, the bottom notes have great depth, you can play above top C and you can play it from cold, straight out of the case.   David has a great wealth of knowledge and skill developed over many years and I would have no hesitation in recommending him."
